There is no in-game item that will allow you to change your name yet. The reason I say yet is because I am sure if there is enough interest in it uCool would likely add an item for it to the game.
As far as changing your avatar did you mean your character itself or are you talking about your Formation for battling, or were you referring to the forums?

I'm thinking there are a lot of guys who are tired of rocking girl pics because they didn't notice that you could change it when they made their character.

You can't change it, atleast not for now.

Being NO ONE actually works at TYNON anymore, there is a very little chance of it happening.
