Server 7 we wither have 'right days' or 'left days'. I am not saying that every one gets a right or a left, but a lot more people get the 'map of the day' than the other one. today was a Right day.
Here's this morning. And when I claimed my benefits, I'll give you three guesses which map I got...

The answer imo is not to do away with the left/right requirement.
That would dumb the game down even further.
I think tynon needs to look into this and fix it so there is a more even map distribution like there was before the patch. ANd maybe add in a special any sided map that you can get in a gold guild chest
Please fix the issue with the Pirate Treasure maps....most are lefts and, now that they don't reset at midnight, the high lvl players just bogart the boats so noone can use them.
On beta we all have right maps on board this is getting old been more then 4 days like this
the game for me is getting so boring and now with this issue about maps to blahhh relly tynon admins or workers hear your players telling u that something is wrong with the map rate
hope u do something about it the game getting to a point for me that it has no meaning to play no more if this keeps up ty in advance.
Same thing in my guild too, almost all of my players inc my self, have been receiving Lefts only for the best part of a week, I know only that 2 of my players that got a Right! which has made it impossible for about 90%of my guild not able to sail, they have robbed maps and have ended up with Lefts.

If they were made generic at least we all could get a chance to sail,Sad thing is, this is easily fixed. Just make the map fragments generic so all you need is two people with map fragments, not a right and a left. So the person can click on either end of the boat.
This would be so easy for the dev's to fix

If it looks like this on your server. I recommend getting off the boats or you all will never sail. You are preventing your own guild mates from being able to sink a ship or steal a map to sail with YOU!
