    [Suggestion] Spirit Item Improvement

There are three possible options, any or all of which could be used to improve the usefulness of Spirit items for magic damage dealers. As things stand I am considering skipping over upgrading my mage's Spirit item in favor of upgrading my physical damage dealers' Spirits because they will frankly see much larger benefit from doing so.

    1. Increase the magic attack on the Spirit itself to an equivalent level of value as the physical attack and skill attack values combined. Alternately, make the skill attack and magic attack values the same. This is my favorite option for improving Spirit items.
    2. Allow either Sapphires OR Rubies to be embedded in Spirit items (this would be a good time to remove the 100+ gem charge on removing embedded level 4+ chips). This is an option that improves flexibility of the item and allows us to better use Rubies beyond just the one or two Staff items most players have. This option ALSO opens up the possibility of a hybrid hero that can use both Skill and/or Magic attacks.
    3. Improve the 6-piece set bonus value of the magic attack increase to be much greater than it currently is (e.g. 750 becomes 1500 or higher). This is my least favorite option because it is a static value that cannot improve with Blacksmith upgrades.

Bumping this because I'm surprised to see very little interest in improving Spirit items for mages.

    i kinda like #2

But would ammend it to be
add any chip to any item. Then you can really customize

I don't think they would be willing to open it up that much. You have to be careful what you allow because there can be some pretty large "abuse" cases available with "any slot any chip" methods. Think of the possibilities of having a set of gear just for Baal/Cerb that has only +Physical Attack or +Magic Attack chips. I think that's not only too powerful but too cumbersome without presets available, and I don't think it's good for game balance either (and it doesn't encourage players to make intuitive decisions about their gear).

On the contrary. It won't be too powerful since everyone is doing it. It only gives an extra edge to those who have higher epic equips (i.e. more chip slots). And Baal/Cerb would simply scale up its HP the next day when they are killed too fast.

I don't see this as an abuse, but a fun variability during PVP/PVE. for example, you can change your chips to all emeralds to give u a nice HP boost and become a tank. You can take out the obsidians and put in more sapphires for Bloodstorm. You can take out all the topaz when going against a Mage-boss, and substitute with diamonds. Infinite variability for infinite fun

Not that it seems like Tynon developers particularly care about balance, but as a game designer you have to design around edge cases of power to prevent abuse. If someone can just stack a ton of physical defense chips to push through a boss, you have to design around that and make the boss harder so that it's not trivial and boring. Keeping players challenged is part of good game design, and granting them too much flexibility can also harm your game, even if it grants players more options that they like.

I'm all for removing gem costs to remove chips above level 4, and I'm all for carefully allowed cross-equipment chipping, but letting any chip go in any slot is a little bit too free-form and as I said before, it will help some players too much and also hurt other players who don't make good choices about what chips they put where.
