Thread: Ragnarok

    Ragnarok

In terms of risk vs. reward, this is clearly the most flawed activity of the day. The rep I gain as with 40 wins, 10 losses is under 1k, and not even a million credits — somewhere around 500k. It costs more than this to boost a lot of times. I like Ragnarok a lot, but I don't think that the rewards are comparable to rewards for other daily events such as Baal & Cerberus.

Agreed. It's one of the most fun events yet has little actual point because the rewards suck hard like a vacuum on shag carpeting.

Same... If anything, Rag should have rewards more like Baal/Cerb. A lot more attention and detail is put into Rag, and people study/test/watch for 50 full minutes. Attach Coins/Credits/Rep/EXP to each round and watch how many more people will boost. I'd rather be home for Rag than GW these days, but the rewards full out stink.

It's kinda funny actually. The one event that we actually want to watch is the only event that can run in the background.

YES! This is actually worthwhile being around for because it's interesting, and you get to learn how your setup compares with others', but it's a waste of time in terms of rewards.

Balace this by power, Rune power, gems embed. If a player is similar let them duke it out. Sucks seeing a High power vs a low get squished, like a pitbull vs a rag doll.

I stopped boosting in Rag a week after it started. I do not care for the status symbol of being on the top few. I have better use for my credits.

Boosting really isn't all that worthwhile unless you get 20% boost on the first 20k credits you spend.

Ragnarok is all about flaunting what you have vs the rest of the server.
In a sense, you could think of it as a "cosmetic" event.

It's not about numbers or stats and such. It's about being king of the hill.
If you want to boost credits or gems, by all means do so.
It's the inner pride that you get in that you can beat everyone else that counts.

There have been very few times for me that Ragnarok has been "Profitable", and these times were when i got extremely lucky and paid in around 400k credits to boost to 80, then got streaks around 8-9, and turn over 750k credits total for the event. Most times when I do decide to boost it costs more than the actual rewards in the end. I agree increased rewards would be nice indeed.

The problem is there isn't much of a middle ground. You are either really profitable on your server.
40 win streak nets you roughly 4mil+ credits.
    37 wins with 3 losses nets you about 400k. (getting 9 win, 1 loss, 9 win, 1 loss, 9 loss, 7 win)
    38 wins with 2 losses nets you about 900k. (16 wins, 1 loss, 16 wins, 1 loss)

I think it has to be evened out more rather then just flat increase the rewards as there are some servers where people go undefeated or 1 loss every night and they make a killing out of it.
