why do i lose power if i unequip my heros to check base value then re equip?

sometimes after I get a card in the tavern I want to compare the base values with the heroes I already have so I unequip all their armour and check but even though I put all their stuff back on 2 secs later the combined power total on left is always lower that what it originally was - happened heaps of time not sure how much I have lost doing this but is heaps - why does it do this its not like I change their stuff / equip for others?

Just reload the game. It's a known issue. Annoying but has no effect on combat.
