I had this discussion as well with people that played Evony, which apparently is made by the same design company. The people there say it's the same setup, with hundreds of dead servers, a focus on cash rather than sustainability as a game. You just have to look at the difference between this and games like Rift, which also have pay-to-play aspects. Rift is really intensive as far as replay ability, character customization, guilds, events, and a more in-depth design geared towards people who love the fantasy genre and gaming in general. Tynon is like the Las Vegas version of that, more of a business based on a model of short lived cash-n-grab servers. This game isn't designed to last a long time. Personally I've already stopped buying gems and just letting nature take its course. I'm in a uber guild so I can ride those benefits for awhile.
Forgot to add: what you need to take into consideration is Tynon is like the phone app of the gaming world. Something that can run in the background, low learning curve and not really time intensive. Part of the frustration I see is that I think we expect more out of it than it is.
There is really no solution to breathe life back into the servers. Or hold it within new ones. If you enjoy the PVP aspect, one of the better options it seems is to actually just play through the beginner rewards period in the new servers when it's full and busy. Apparently this is a popular thing to do. I'm considering it myself, as there's really little incentive to keep going once a server (or realm in the case of 1-10) has reached the uber-guild endgame. I think they key to avoiding frustration is just lower the bar as far as what will actually be possible.
Again reference the Evony business model. We might wish for something different, but experience shows it works.

yet they continue to add new servers. I read that this game was designed for one purpose and that was to make money. So I can see Tynon just becoming a quick money grab and then just stop existing when it runs dry. I mean they don't put much effort into fixing problem that have plagued this game from the start. They are very slow in adding any new content to the game if any at all. So it does seem they will just play it out until the money runs dry, then just turn it off like a switch, and say thank you very much !
