I made a post on this very same subject ..before I read this post lol. I play on server #30 and we are dying very fast as well yet they continue to add new servers. I read that this game was designed for one purpose and that was to make money. So I can see Tynon just becoming a quick money grab and then just stop existing when it runs dry. I mean they don't put much effort into fixing problem that have plagued this game from the start. They are very slow in adding any new content to the game if any at all. So it does seem they will just play it out until the money runs dry, then just turn it off like a switch, and say thank you very much !
I had this discussion as well with people that played Evony, which apparently is made by the same design company. The people there say it's the same setup, with hundreds of dead servers, a focus on cash rather than sustainability as a game. You just have to look at the difference between this and games like Rift, which also have pay-to-play aspects. Rift is really intensive as far as replay ability, character customization, guilds, events, and a more in-depth design geared towards people who love the fantasy genre and gaming in general. Tynon is like the Las Vegas version of that, more of a business based on a model of short lived cash-n-grab servers. This game isn't designed to last a long time. Personally I've already stopped buying gems and just letting nature take its course. I'm in a uber guild so I can ride those benefits for awhile.

Forgot to add: what you need to take into consideration is Tynon is like the phone app of the gaming world. Something that can run in the background, low learning curve and not really time intensive. Part of the frustration I see is that I think we expect more out of it than it is.

There is really no solution to breathe life back into the servers. Or hold it within new ones. If you enjoy the PVP aspect, one of the better options it seems is to actually just play through the beginner rewards period in the new servers when it's full and busy. Apparently this is a popular thing to do. I'm considering it myself, as there's really little incentive to keep going once a server (or realm in the case of 1-10) has reached the uber-guild endgame. I think they key to avoiding frustration is just lower the bar as far as what will actually be possible.

Again reference the Evony business model. We might wish for something different, but experience shows it works.

"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

Give it time. Tynon is still a young game and has not shown it's full potential as of yet. If it has already hit it's peak performance, and the rest is a down hill coast, well, that stinks... Personally I think the best has yet to be seen and don't forget that Tynon, as well as Evony are also businesses. Earning money is the #1 goal. Customers are #2. For those of you that read this as me standing up for Tynon, please press the little "x" in the upper right corner now. That isn't what I'm saying. All I'm saying is that if you were an Evony player, then you already know that patience is the best recourse here.

Evony has been around for 4 years plus.

I don't think that qualifies as a "quick cash and grab"

It does, if it's 4 years of leaving dead servers behind. 4 years from now Tynon might have 1000+ servers, and still be based on a quick cash and grab model.

There are players who have played the entire 4 years in Evony, and are still coining up until now.

Also, I don't think you are of proper qualification to assess the game's business model.
You don't have access to their business organization plans, their accounting books, their organization layout, etc.

    No...just the results.

Since you are of no qualification to assess Tynon's business model, all your arguments about this is then rendered invalid.

I think the point I was making is that you don't have to be the one running the business to see what the end result is. Your argument is the same as saying since I don't work in the White House I have no business voting. I could go into credentials, but that seems pointless, since if you were actually part of the business world you would already know the importance of customer feedback, and validating concerns by active listening. Your "kids, get off my lawn" routine is a bit stale.

The point of this thread is about the server migration problems and server drain. You can argue that it's not true, but everyone knows it is. Sure, there might be a handful of people who are too invested to move on and stick around after four years. It really depends on what interests you. I think for those interested in PVP there really isn't much incentive after the choke hold sets in, without some way to increase competition or lessen the effects of the power gap.

It's not sustainable, in that it's completely possible to take over a server on the first day, at which point you are the apex predator with nowhere else to go. Your character is limited to that server, and cannot be imported to a more active one. Lamodomo talks about inviting friends to play, which I argue is just a stopgap measure that only highlights the lack of server progression, as I think most of us here would take genuine competition over trying to fill an empty room.

As it's said, form begets function, and this is inherent in the game's design. Maybe it changes down the line, maybe it doesn't. We'll all adapt how we feel the need to. But it does no one any good to just write off any possibility of change, or write off other's concerns. The worst idea is the one never spoken. Or starting a land war in China. Whatever the case, you can thank those that care about the game enough to be participatory in the act of innovation for any changes in content that do occur.
