LMAO, only 68 players on new server!

So the new European server, (server93) only has 68 players, with only about 30 of them above 10k power!
Doesn't this tell you something tynon? That we dont want new servers! We want our servers fixed!

Didnt that server just open like 24 hours or so ago? It is the newest European server. Give it at least a week before complaining that there are not enough people on it, or at lest until they announce a new one in the same time zone.
But if its 68 experienced players ready to coin a little, that could be a really fun server.2 nice guilds competing over the entire server. That could be fun if I wanted to start ALL OVER again.

    No. Good things take time.

If a new server were as necessary as they claimed, it would be populated heavily to begin with. New people do join as time goes on, but I think many of us think that the rate of server release is insane, and leads to premature server death.

Well i thought this server actually started less then 24 hours ago so i was saying give it a little more time. The first 72 hours is when the main players of the server join imo. But I think an interetsing point is being brought up here, and it is clearly something most of us and the Tynon team disagree about.

What is enough people to say a server is full enough before opening a new one for the same time zone? I personally say in a 3 realm server with server wide gwf 180-210 is good enough. that gives you 3 guilds of 60-70 people, which is about as many as we can muster per major guild per realm on 1-10. Anything less is going to be sparse but could lead to a 2 guild server which could be interesting in its own so then 120-150 people copuld barely make it worth playing. Once you get above 250 or so on a 3 server realm you are pushing the capacity I think of this game unless you can manage to get a significant increase form day 1 of server so that you wind up with 350-450 players on the server with 2 main guilds in each of the 3 realms.

Now each scenario has its pluses and minuses and will play a crucial part of the longevity of the server. If you get a 120 people who all split into 2 guilds and are enjoying smashing each other every day, then you could have a server that is fun competitive and long lasting, provided those people stay interested in the game content over the long run.

Now 68 people is just barely enough in my mind for 1 day of the server, in the long run they could break down into 2 equal sized guilds. And have a blast and start picking up the newer players as they join the server. However having only 68 players is going to make banish slow, and other things quite slow as well.

So if the trend is for much smaller sized servers, maybe there needs to be adjustments to the cool down times of guilds and teh cost to upgrade guilds etc.

I'd say if there aren't 140 active players per realm (Two 70 player guilds per realm of active, daily players), you're under desired capacity. There should be direct competition between guilds in a single realm and enough players per realm to mount a combined offensive against other realms (particularly for servers 10+ which don't have realm-only Guild Warfare).

I know for a fact my current server is nowhere near this level on any realm.

Now if we are talking server 1-10 thats a different story all together form new servers.

I am pretty sure noone on server 1-10 has 2 guilds of 70+ per realm that can compete well with each other. Even on server 1 if we could get free realm changes and so forth i dont think we could even come close to setting that up. BUt it might be possible if you ignored the fact that some people want to play with certain other people and not with others.

I doubt any server 1-10 will ever have a realm with 2 equally sized and powered guilds. You might find the odd realm on the odd server, but not consistently across all 10 servers. Which is part of the frustration of GWF

But I was speaking mainly about new servers. 68 people can make a brand new server work great but its gonna be super slow with guild upgrades and banish events, and it will require some planning on the entire server's part. But with only 3 realms and cross realm GWF, you dont need 2 guilds per realm for competition. 2 competitive guilds regardless of realm is all that is needed. And in fact I would recommend to a small server like that when its brand new to get everyone into one realm from day 1, break up into 2 guilds and go for it. then everyone is together for banish arena etc
and then both guilds can compete with each other for gwf.
And if all the actives are in one realm, you can just abandon those speakers and never have them scrolling across the screen, you can yell at each other in rc

Wouldn't it make more sense to have fewer servers in that case? Why have everyone move to the same realm if they're only sufficiently using a single realm's worth of rewards? That's basically my point here, that without a large number of players you're not really actually using a server to its potential.

True you may not be using the server to its potential, but at least you can achieve a useful server for some people. Im not saying everyone would want that situation. But say You and I, Kelpto got together and each of us gathered up 30 or so people each and went on a new server and did that. We could have a blast. And not have to worry about a lot of things. Let Tynon worry about how much server space they are wasting, Make the best of the situation.
