Mounts, Embeding Gems and more

Mounts actually do improve your speed, but you don't really see the increase till you get to the panther and beyond. I'm curious whether the speed increase doesn't somehow subtly impact combat as well, but this is pure speculation.

What good is speed on a mount anyway??? I have always wondered. Only 2 places in this game speed might matter - Noble Lady ~ which is stupid, not enough credits to make it worth chasing her for an hour, and the speed barely helps, lag affects it too.
The other is banish - but who cares if you get to the beast 1 second, or fraction of a second sooner? The ONLY place that ever mattered is on the old system of going for last hit. Since that's no longer in effect I truly do NOT see any benefit whatsoever to speed in this game.

Unless you do noble lady and rely on lady for a good portion of credits. Then speed is really good.

You also grind materials faster so less time spent in the wild ducking bigger players.
