Instead of chip removal having no cost, why not have the ability to socket over an already existing chip, destroying the one already in the socket and replacing it.
(this was already suggested before, and i find it a very cheap and effective solution both for the players and the developers)

Or in place merging where you can merge the one that is there with 4 of the same lave and have the higher level one replace it in the socket.

something that would be nice would be if the "clones" had something more to identify them than the background color, just fought Baal with Adam instead of lance in, did have runes and gear since he's one of my "Spares" but still only did about half the damage as normal, and I was blaming it on not getting stuns. maybe change the ARMOR COLOR instead of the background color or the direction they face or SOMETHING???
