Banners Here To Stay?

I've asked in previous threads, one of which is now closed, when will we have the option to turn off banner announcements. I might understand their need if used for server emergency maintenance or notice of an upcoming outage. However, I really don't care if a player just created a new spirit or feels like telling the server to "F-Off". I mean, was that really what it was meant for? I hope not.

In at least one reply we did receive some hope, in that we would soon be able to turn that "option" off. That's still not the case, and I'm curious if it interferes with other people's game play, as it does mine.

The banner is annoying. And its not so much the information. Some of its for bragging purposes. But what annoys me is its placement. It covers up things that Im trying to look at. Also it can sometimes cause lag.

But dawn said like 2 months ago they were working on giving us a way to turn it off. So give it another 2 years to happen.

Maybe in the patch we will theoretically see in November, don't assume I'm right because I'm probably not.

True true, if we could move it just a bit even... it seems to be strategic in its placement. Especially during GW!

I think it has moved and changed font size since beta version 1

OK, it seems the banner is not a big deal to forum readers or posters. Also no moderator input, so I'll stop asking. So many things wrong with this game, yet I still enjoy it. That speaks volumes to the things it has going for it.

It's just not worth the effort with so much else that's wrong with the game. At least that's my opinion.

On another thread DawnSeeker said that they has a solution for the problem. Apparently they are too busy with other changes to implement it.

But they did fix the...sound glitch...on the last patch, so the agile method is certainly working.

The banner is annoying sometimes but I like seeing what everyone is achieving on the server.. I can send a greeting or grats about successes.
