add 2 mil power come no where close to beating it, add 2 m more power get really close again. add another 2 mil and cant even get close to beating it, add 4 mil more then finally beat it.
Someone has actually theorized that a bosses defensive power increases with your offensive talents. I dont know what it is, but the bosses distribution of power is not static. The simple fact that outside of total power we are never told what the stats of any boss are. This is probably done partly due to the fact that their actual individual stats are not static and are based on something. Whatever that something is. But once you increase in power to a certain point, that something doesnt matter because it is not enough to change the outcome of the battle due to your power levels finally hitting a certain point.
Banish damage is manipulated by stuns which is not static. Stun rates are manipulated during banish to distribute the overall damage to players and to prevent the 250m power boss to be beat in under 15 mins.
Dawn may try to deny all of this. There may be another explanation to what I and many others have observed in the game. Something much more benign then my explanation which produces the same results
But there are way too many examples of the devs setting things up to SLOW down progression for me to believe that there is not something set up in all bosses other then the obvious power and passive abilities to slow down progress in the game. Pursuer is an obvious example of this. Banish is also an obvious example of it. Lascivious is not as obvious but it happens in that one too. I was killing it 8 m power. But then i added power and had more trouble, added some more and it was no trouble again. It may not be setup in every boss, but in certain bosses there is a very unobvious and something not so easily explained factor that slows down progress and it seems to be related to the players power.
