There are a lot of issues that they have to work trough before they can merge servers. These are some.
    1. Conflicting player names.
    2. Conflicting Guild names.
    3. Will the resultant server be like 1-10 or like the newer servers.
    4. How to allocate the players and guilds to a Realm.
    5. What to do about who owns the GW cities (probably start with no one owning them and let the guilds fight for them from scratch).
    6. Arena Ranks.
    7. And, of course, how to pick what servers to merge. This on it self presents a number of issues:
      1. Will be a 2 or more into 1 or will the population of one server be distributed to multiple servers.
      2. Should the inactive players be moved too. That also means they need to define what an inactive player is and what to do with the ones that do not move.
      3. Can old (1-10) and new servers be merged
      4. Can servers in different time zones be merged
The opinions expressed on this post are my own as a player, not as a Moderator.

    This is what I think.

    1. If they follow the same merge base as Evony, name changes maybe possible.
    2. As above
    3. Depends, it could go either way
    4. I'll imagine guilds and players will be in the same realm
    5. In this case all cities will be reset to NPC
    6. Reset, new fight for ranks
    7.
    1. You will choose one toon and any gems brought on the discarded will be moved on the account you have chosen
    2. They'll be moved too especially if they are VIP accounts
    3. Any-things possible
    4. Wouldn't think this would be practical

im not sure we on the newer servers (s88) with top 4 at 40ish mil power and the 10 next at 15-25m power would benefit from a mass merger of all accounts...sure a couple older servers that gives us something to catch but not with the oldest to give us no chance at wb, sails etc

GW's I have said is a major issue on 11-? as 1 guild own all of the NPC's. We don't even bother with GW's anymore, which allows the npc mongers to get all the rewards and buffs while the rest of the top players not in their guild are slowly dieing

I've come to the conclusion that the city buffs are causing servers to die out. City buffs are so strong that if they are monopolized then other players in guilds who don't have them will give up hope of being able to compete. They should have decent bonuses, not "must have them or else we fall significantly behind bonuses". Reducing city bonuses by 50% would be a nice change to this game. For example, 10% rep, and 25% gold boosts is more than enough of a bonus to be beneficial, but not nearly as gamebreaking as the current city buffs.

For the record we do not hold onto ALL the cities on S11 - we always leave one city to be in the hands of some other guild so please keep your facts straight Spawn. With that said - yes GW's do indeed imbalance a server and that should be corrected. Merging 5 servers into one with all of the players from the same server going into a single realm would do this as you would then have 5 strong realm with 'supposedly' 5 strong guilds, 1 in each realm, to help balance things out. However once one guild again OP's the rest the end result will be be the same.

Exactly the problem. We have been over this a hundred times in other threads. the best way to make everyone happy is to take the buffs from cities and attach them to guild levels instead, then change gwf itself either into a PvE event or some other type of PvP event.

It solves the issues of the city buffs without taking them away from anyone who earned them already.

I am not sure if we are going to have server merge or not but this topic is dead for quite some time. I know dawnseeker is active in forums but not responding here means this is just not in the plans yet with all the bugs they need to fix

In my opinion the above questions is not that hard to answer and resolve... Actually things can be very simple.

1 & 2 = Just place in front of the name the origin server number and give one opportunity to each player/host to rename their name/guild
3 = either way i don't believe this is a reason to delay merge. maybe a good opportunity to make all servers the same
4 = start from the guilds. i guess they could create a ranking with guilds according population and power and transfer them like the example below
    GUILD A ---realm 1
    GUILD B ---realm 2
    GUILD C ---realm 3
    GUILD D ---realm 4
    GUILD E ---realm 5
    GUILD F ---realm 1
    GUILD G ---realm 2
    GUILD H ---realm 3 etc
Players that don't belong to a guild and have been inactive for x days not transfer yet

5 & 6 = reset seems to be the fairest

7.1 = this is simply math and depends how many players will be moved.... (how many players one server can handle?)
7.2 = just separate inactives one a different server/s and give them option next time the log in to "move" their account to a merged server
7.3 = why not? and again i don't see this as a reason to delay merge (maybe they can let players decide to which server to move, give one free travel ticket)
7.4 = maybe they can create one new server for each time zone and give choice for players to move there if they wish (maybe the choice can be limited time.... 72 hours from the time you log in for the first time after this change)

Just keep things simple... if the devs afraid to make decisions for their game maybe no need to make them just let the players decide so everyone can be happy

Yeah we've been needing a merge for awhile now, alot of people have already quit because of the servers being so inactive. I just hope that guild will stick together when we actually do merge (hopefully soon)
