I had a similar problem a few weeks ago. However I had won the 1,000 gems in the arena waited for the 30 minute timer to count down, claimed them and they appeared in my gem slot. I tried to use some but the only thing that happened is it deducted my gems but did not raise my stamina. the flash player crashed soon after this and then I lost the 1,000 gems. I had messaged Dawnseeker the next day but I am still waiting for a word back. It really stinks I know.
