    Caribbean Pirates: suggestion for improvement

The Caribbean Pirates is a nice feature of the game. However, I see a problem with it, and many people often complain about what I'm going to talk about. It's often IMPOSSIBLE to sail. New players on a server (or weaker players) can never make it to the other side-- unless they sail with the strongest player on their server. What usually happens however is that the top players loot anyone who tries to sail. Most people agree that this is a problem I think. To make myself clear, it renders a fun aspect of the game totally useless for most players. There is nothing wrong with getting sunk every now and then-- it's part of the game-- but getting sunk all the time is something else.

I think this aspect could be improved, and I have a suggestion. When you walk in the wild, you cannot attack everyone; you can only attack certain players, i.e. those whose level isn't too far from yours. This feature prevents strong players from attacking weaker players. It's meant to provide fair PvP battles. I think this restriction should also apply to the Caribbean Pirates. In other words, you could only attack the ships of players close to your own level (but you can always attack players with a higher level).

    Example
If a player level 42 is sailing with a level 44, a player level 47 could attack them, but a level 50 could not.

    Another example
If a level 44 is sailing with a level 12, a level 47 could still attack them. This is to show that you could attack ship AS LONG AS a player within a range of 3 levels from yours is in the ship. This would prevent players from finding protection by using lower level players.

I think this would render the Caribbean Pirates more interesting for most players. Moreover, it follows the game's philosophy by reusing an aspect of the game, i.e. that players cannot attack lower level players in the wild.

Please, share your opinion on the matter! Is this an issue for you? Do you agree/disagree with my suggestion? Why?

Caribbean pirates is the only place where there is no level restrictions to fighting. I hope it stays the same.

They have already changed it so that you get half the rewards just for hopping on a boat and start to sail.

To fight big players preying in pirates, just sail during times where they aren't likely to be online, are occupied, or have used up all their sail attempts.

Why do you hope it stays the same? Because you can sink 200K players? I don't think you deserve a map for sinking a player like that.

I would rather get no reward before and be able to attack only within a certain restrition than what currently applies. It's not fun sailing right now, even if I get half the reward.

Even if your idea were to be implemented chickenwing. Sailing would not be any more fun. Never was and probably never will be without a major overhaul.

It's fun because you get to fight other players, not because you can watch your ship sail. If you don't like the feature at all, you don't have to criticize my idea. You're here for the wrong reason. There is nothing more rewarding than beating two 1M players when you are yourself a 1M player.

Also, "funner" is not a word.

Yeah I know beating 2 13 million players when you're 10 million is kinda fun, but I just don't get much entertainment out of pvp anymore (hoping that changes with the next patch).

And I've never been much of a fan of the lvl restrictions. There are plenty of players who have all their rune slots unlocked and filled and still lose to me despite me being only in the 70s levelwise. 99.9% of the players that can beat me cannot even attack me in the wild.

I understand that level restrictions make less sense as the levels get higher. I'm at a point where I'm level 54, so the dynamic is probably different than yours. Maybe the problem has to do with the lifespan of a server. I'm sure you had more fun when everyone had lower levels and fewer runes (thus required more thinking as there were more restrictions).

Anyways, I believe something should be worked out to separate the weak from the strong, such as better rewards for attacking stronger players. This could introduce map levels for instance. You would get better rewards for sailing with better maps, and stronger players would get better maps from the guild's contribution.
