Incorrect. You can transfer from a hero with same saints and/or star levels as target hero.

Fortunately for me i have a few "play around" accounts on various servers to try stuff on before i try it on my main.
IMHO u8nless you have oodles of coin, and a hero you will never use again with great sancs, and stars, transfer is a pretty useless thing.
Also, though I'm sure y'all'v noticed, you can only transfer within same rank, i.e. you cannot transfer from a blue hero to a purple.
Ya not being able to transfer up from blue to purple really makes this a moot feature. Not much gain dropping the actual hero level. And losing what is already there to gain was is being sent is most likely a wash.
Only advantage is transferring to a new hero with nothing.
Not necessarily. You may have a hero with one or two Saints whose cards in the Tavern cost a lot of spirits, like Blood at 1800 spirits. What you can do is buy Dawn spirits at 800 and Saint her up as high as you can and then transfer to Blood. You will loose the one or two Saints levels that you have on Blood and one from Dawn in the transfer, but it would actually be cheaper than to buy Blood cards for Sainting.
