Whats the point in starting in old servers?

Hiya not sure anyone brough this up before but why would anyone want to start in an old server? Everybody is higher level than you and got more stuff than you. When it comes to fighting Baal/ Cerb you will get less than if you start on a new server and if you go sailing there is a very high chance 1 of those Sr. will attack you. Rag is the same everybody will win you. Frankly I can't find any reason why any newbie would start on a mature server.
However if older servers don't have new blood and older players get bored and leave or give up on the game the population slowly decrease and not long it becomes a ghost town.
Tried to ask some of my friends to join me but after trying out the game all of them say they will wait for a new server can anyone help me find some strong points to woo them to join me in my current server please? Thanks

well there is allways guild benefits from city's pretty nice to start if you have 8 city's or more but yes mostly friends thats why servers die people dont see any chance to be high rank anymore so they quit or game ripped them

Actually, what is the point in starting on newer servers since the new members can not get the rep to promote because they do not get the gift.

I imagine the only reason would be if someone is totally new to the game.

Well, there are a few reasons to start on an older server.
1) Servers 1-10 have a different set-up with five realms and five sets of cities to fight over. This experience does not exist on newer servers.
2) Lots of experienced players to learn from.
3) Relative safety. You are so much lower in level, other players cannot attack you in the wild. This is great for PvE players.

Downside: well, guild wars and sailing are a real pain because you ARE so much lower level. Anything concerning PvP will be a problem, as you are very weak in comparison.

I'd recommend one of the 1st 5 servers.

There are two good reasons to start with an older server:
1. Getting into a guild with 8 or more cities is easy, and this will really advance your power quickly.
2. The annoying kids are gone. The people who are left are mature players. This means that there is less swearing and more game playing.

with point 1? WHY would that be a benefit? coz its nice and all with the buff's but you wont start to WIN there.. you start and someone else is allrdy 50m+ lol right u aint gonna be beating him..
+ nice a those high power players will mean u never win baal (1st 2nd 3rd..)

2. well thats just server related.. on our server we still have children ... that cant act mature.. call people names etc.. so then you have to prescout that world.
