    Server Merge

My name on the game is "babygiiirl", I have a guild called "Ragnarok", and I came to Tynon from a game that was almost identical (Dawn Of Darkness). For the first 6 months or so, all the servers had lots of people, they kept adding more servers, and then it got to the point where it is at Tynon now. Where each server only has enough active people to fill one guild per realm. The amount of people "could" be shared more equally I suppose, but it seems as though most people want to join the guild that is the highest and offers the most benefits, so there isn't the possibility of friendly competition anymore. You either join the best guild, or you suffer because you lose out on all the benefits.

Dawn Of Darkness saw what was happening, how a lot of people were leaving the game, and they spiced things up with a server merge. It took everyone by surprise, old guilds merged with new ones, and formally top notch guilds, were finally challenged. The whole influx of new people brought back some interest to the game, the chats were no longer dead, and overall--it was just a breath of fresh air. In my opinion, if you want to run a game, you have to keep it interesting.

Merging servers does no dis-service to the people who have kicked in a lot of money to the game--it only inspires them to spend more--because now they will finally have a challenge. Overall, it will just make the game more interesting for everyone.

I truly hope that you consider this merge, and it would be awesome if you did it real soon, because I have 3 weeks holidays coming up : ) Tks!

They have already announced plans for server merges, they just haven't given us the timetable for when exactly it will happen.

Yes, I realize that the plans have been announced, but sometime plans don't get followed through with unless people speak up for them?

Since this is being extensively discussed in this thread http://bbs.tynon.com/showthread.php?...Server-Mergers there really is no need for this one and so I'll be closing it, but thank you for contributing.

What I will say is this, this game has evolved in a way that the buffs available have taken precedence over playing Guild Wars which has become little more than a 'top up' event. On the mixed realm GW servers (11+) a single uber guild develops, something that will continue to happen no matter how many times you merge any server. The first 10 servers in comparison are pretty active compared to the much later ones and therefore unlikely to be merged anytime soon, especially when others are in much greater need.

Guild Wars is really only one small part of the game and with this new patch there is a lot more going on. IMHO an active Guild Chat is worth 10 times more than GWs and most guilds especially the original 10 servers with split realms are quite happy with the current set up and see no benefit in changing it.
