I don't think there is anything you can do to influence your chance of final blow reward. If I am level 20 and only have my main in formation and you have your form up and we are the only two in the banish - my chances are 50%...

my cer/baal formation works great for me here is my formation till the finale blow (left to right) 1=calvin 2=main 3=shayd 4=rhize 6=smoulder with shayd in the front row gives me a chance of stunning n gives me more hits in. now for the finale blow formation is 1=rhize 2=main 3=calvin with a lvl 8 morale rune 4=shayd 6=smoulder with this formation n the lvl 8 morale rune lets me stay in battle longer on the finale blow so it gives me a better chance of getting the finale blow rewards hope this helps any newbs

also about your last hit form, its not needed. the last hit reward is determined randomly during the rage phase. no damage, hit sequence or number of rounds will give you any advantage on it.
