Yes if you can't retake your own stake you still get 50% at the end of the timer. Whereas the player holding your stake got their 50% when they stole it.

What about the gems i spent on opening arena stakes slots? The fourth one was 10 gems, and the fifth one was 20!

Isn't there a possibility for abuse with the way stakes work? Suppose someone has 1000 gems. You grab it, get 500 gems; then the other takes it back. You grab it again, get another 500 gems, etc. Isn't this crazy?

Actually, it isn't the case.

After some testing with my guildmates, when your stake is grabbed and you take it back, no one can grab your stake anymore. This effectively prevents abuse, but it's weird. It can allow you to protect, for instance, your 1000 gems or your leader card by having a friend grab it from you and then grab it back.

It will certainly encourage guild members to work together, though, because you can share rewards with your friends.

Each time I have walked away for an extended period of time, I come back to the Arena Icon glowing and no stakes selected. Does this mean that the Arena no longer auto selects stakes, or am I seeing things?

I had jumped realms and opened the 20 gem and 30 gem slots One day (30 gems) and two days (20 gems) before this patch went live. I don't care about the other slots opened ages ago, but I want the 50 Gems back for the latest two, and have submitted a ticket for it.

Deuc, arena will auto select but now it takes close to 20 minutes for it to do it. Unless you sit on top of arena, you miss out on a lot imo.

On another note, this is my response on getting those 50 gems back that I used to open slots THE DAY BEFORE THIS PATCH WAS RELEASED.

How does the Gems I have purchased have anything to do with this at all? This is a useless generic response that makes no sense at all. I did NOT get to use those slots because 4 hours after I purchased them, they released this patch. I'm really getting tired of being slapped around by customer service. Ty Tynon.

In the view of Tynon, they have basically opened all spots for you now. You can go from bottom to top of arena and collect all you want w/out having to wait for a stake spot to open. I agree the new changes stink. The competition of "protecting" stakes is now gone. All you have to do is get a guild mate to hit you and no one else has a chance. They may as well take arena fighting out now.
