You get a free 100 ticket bet per fight. You can ante up this bet for 10 gems to multiply the bet by 2 or for 25 gems (total, 10+15) to multiple by 3. In my first 2 fights I have won and upped the ante to the max. So, I have paid a total of 25 gems per fight and I now have a total of 2800 tickets. I got 2000 free for registering. I won 600 though my bets and I don't know how I got the other 200.

So, let's continue down this path. It costs 50 gems for 600 tickets or in this case maybe 800 tickets. Not sure but let's use 800 since it gives the game the benefit of the doubt and it makes the math simpler. 800 tickets for 50 gems. It costs 10,000 tickets to redeem for a level 5 chip in the ticket exchange. Nice, I only have to win 8,000 tickets since they gave me 20% of the total cost for free. To win 8,000 tickets using the ante betting system that would equate to 500 gems assuming I have enough fights and wins. It's been a long day but I think my math is right there.

If I take a quick trip over to the Fair I can see her offering me two level 5 chips. I can buy a Topaz for 737 gems or a Ruby for 633 gems. These costs can vary wildly obviously. I can also get these chips from the Lab for 100 tokens a piece.

What am I missing? Maybe the CW rewards will go up as we progress through the tournament? I can't see where it's justifiable to spend gems to up the bet on the fights. Maybe some will say that savings on gems is great but I'm not buying a level 5 chip for 500 gems.

your extra ante applies across all battles within the particular round. So your 25 gems paid for a 300 ticket bet for rounds 1, 2, and 3. This become more valuable as we move into best of 5, 7, 9, and 11 rounds. at the 11 round fight you're looking at 3300 tickets for 25 gems if you bet correctly. that's 16 blue medals, a 160 gem value (80 on fridays) for 25 gems. overall not too overpriced.
