Patch Notes 12-16 Clarifications: Maps rewarded from assistant

The patch notes announced that we now get 4 sail attempts every day. It also stated that you will be awarded a random map piece when you collect the Knight's and King's bounty in assistant.

This is all accurate, however what they forgot to put in is the following:

Map are not stack-able. If you already have a map and claim another one, you lose the map you were holding and it is replaced with the new map.

This may sound stupid to some. But I will illustrate where it can be useful.
Everyone has a left map including you. You claim your knight's bounty and are awarded a right map. Now you have a right map instead of the left and don't have to try and lose your map piece. This can prevent the previous blockade situation we had several months ago.

SO yes you must now plan how you claim assistant rewards and guild benefits to manage you map pieces.

I agree it is a great idea to add sails, and give maps. This allows the smaller accts that can't sink for maps more chances to sail. However, as matt said, they don't stack. So if you lose one, or click the chest too soon.. you are SOL, which kinda defeats the purpose. I as a bigger player. i don't mind, i can sink for maps, or rob on shore... but the way the maps are usually so one-sided, it still can create the blockade situation. And smalls don't get to use all theirs. Oh well, still better than a poke in the eye. LOL

All you need to do is to not claim the chest or benefits until you have used the map that you are holding.

This has always been in the game. They just made it easier to do and more practical.

Before they added the ones in the assistant, I would typically have stolen a map before claiming guild benefits and when I claimed benefits the stolen map would be replaced with the new from the guild benefits (this assumes that I still have the stolen which I sometimes did).
