Active and Inactive heroes

there should be a way to trade out active and inactive heroes from hero inn to formation. I'm stuck with all these heroes from where i was sergeant, now I'm a major and I can't use any of these newly unlocked heroes because i "as I already have 12 active heroes" >=-(
I can't use Shayd, Saffron, Valla, Calvin, Cianna, Alexa, Ahmose Nekhbet, Hypatia Alexandria, Thucydides, Knight Percival, Jeanne d'Arc, or Themistocles. I have everyone of them but I can't use them because i already have 12 active heroes. I suggest it be changed. It's freakin bullcrap I can't use these

Upper right, there should be a "Rest" button.
Remove all equipment and runes, then click on Rest.

It is clunky, glad you see it too. My question is: why have an inn? I fail to see the necessity. I can't imagine that storing runes on extra heroes is an issue for the Devs/game. You still have to spin, use them or raise them, and stuck on unused (seldom looked at) heroes really makes little difference. The only other thing i see as an issue would be a very long list of heroes to sort thru to find one you need (that are now in the 12), but it is more common than ever to need to change heroes throughout the day for diff applications, ie; banish, HR, PvP, Royal Arena... etc. I do hope they revisit this system.

I prefered the old way over the new way. where you could access all heroes form rune temple and from hero screen

Why? If they are in the inn, it is pretty much out of sight out of mind. Unless of course you are one of those people who recruited an absurd number of white heroes on free hero tuesdays (when it was still that).

Then I think you don't know the history of the game. Back then white heroes are used for rune storage, now since they can't be used, retiring them is a good option
