Correct this game is dangerously skating the laws for online gambling sites and is especially sucking in children who have no concept of wagering and probability. This seems to be the modern way for online casinos to essentially skirt anti-gambling laws but wrapping a casino within a game engine to hide it from authorities. I am betting that government authorities all over the world will soon crack down on it - and game over.

You can't redeem money from gems. It's not gambling.

Like RiverBummer said, various technicalities allow them to get around anti-gambling laws. There's no denying the essence of what it is. No one is that naive. But whether it can be called that by law and enforced as such? Well, that is the issue.

Your missing the point Boo. When you spend money to buy gems your buying a commodity that is still owned by ucool. Then you play with that commodity but regardless of what happens ucool still owns that virtual currency and you cant redeem it. Your buying a purchase as in a final product. And thats where it differs from my online betting accounts, as all the time the money is still mine. I am never buying a product, just gambling.

I'd just like to point out that the time of the Championship Warfare was not well chosen. It's Christmas time and there are a lot of Chritmas parties. I'm pretty sure a lot of people were not able to bet tonight, nor will they be able tomorrow. Maye some players in the knockout rounds were not able to be there moreover. I understand the event was postponed though.
