I think it's to make the game more competitive throughout. It makes people work harder to make the golds the heroes they can be, and those who can only get purples more likely to compete with those who have progressed much faster.

i totally disagree on this one, if the base stats are higher on the purples than the compared the gold ones then why bother making gold wehn you can get pruple cards so much cheaper, pay 2 medals instead of 3, get them early in the game, etc...Originally Posted by DrthCaedus
lets make an example on this and do you really think that someone who got a half angel IV purple his/her set up is based on, who is happy with that purple and it "kicks butt"... you really think he is gonna take that one out of the formation and will put a high ranked but useless gold in there for 3-4 months until he caught up to the purple he replaced?
