7 is kind of down. One of my friends managed to stay logged on and not getting hung by being at 99% in the battle load in Cerb and she is still fully functional as far as she can see. She does not have the New Year chest thing though.

Anything she does will not apply once the database syncs with her client.
To test this, have her train and see if the xp goes up or not.
This is Tynons way of testing. Rather then test things before they implement them, they rush them into the game to see how many people they can get upset. It isn't like this is anything new for Tynon. Go Tynon Team Go.
