Thread: Tynon Load Issues

  1. #181

    Sync your servers Tynon

Not sure if any Server Admins at Tynon see these threads, or if moderators pick them up and forward, but I am gonna try this once.

I am in IT with experience at several large global corporations and know a thing or two about how this stuff works.

I have no logs or anything to review, but it seems fairly clear that there is a general sync issue with the DB systems and the client servers at Tynon. Additionally, when CW is thrown in to the mix, you need to sync data with all of the client servers and the CW or other DB instance and when that attempt is made, things get real fun.

I have several profiles on different Tynon servers and did a little troubleshooting on this from my end. I found that not one server is on the same time as any of the others, at least, not judging by the game clocks. How can you sync data from multiple servers to a DB when everything has different time stamps? I would think that one of the first things you guys would do is get the servers in time sync. I mean, that is pretty basic stuff there. Are you even running NTP and pointing it to a valid source? From my end, it does not appear that you are. Think that could cause synchronization issues?

My logic is simply this: You are experiencing DB sync issues across multiple systems, the servers also do not appear to be time synced. Eliminate the time sync problem as a possible source of DB sync issues.

I don't know if that is the problem, but I suggest that you eliminate that possibility by simply getting NTP running and syncing your servers.

Just a thought from where I sit far away. Again, no hard data to look at but my significant experience says start with basics and that would include syncing your servers to a valid time source

Hope this finds its way to the right person and they take a look at this issue.

Tynon, get it together, you make too many servers when the old ones should just be merged, and get rid of inactive accounts.
agree fully that tynon spit out way too many servers - many servers are pretty much dead, but they keep saying the servers are full and they need more servers - it's just bs!! they know most peeps spend money right at the start of a game so they make that new start possible every few seconds (at least felt like that lol, but they have slowed it down a bit fortunately!! but too late) so they can make more money... cause no matter how much we like the game and enjoy playing it - the ONLY goal with the game is for the devs to make money!! there is absolutely no consideration to the players happiness, cause otherwise they would NOT have opened so ridiculously many servers so close after each other, and they would fix the bugs and errors that we constantly report, and they would merge servers to make them less dead etc etc etc
but alass... it's all about the all mighty money

*nibbels on chips* This topic is so much fun to follow xD How on earth can ya'll be so frustrated over a couple of pixels. Lol!
It's not like the world is ending tomorrow and these are the last couple of hours you can play the game or last time you can play a certain event
Just relax, chat a lil, eat chips, go party,... and time will pass and the game will be back befor you know it.

wow I sat here and read every single comment, took about 25 minutes plus the hour already with servers down, funny not one admin bothered to comment. I'm about tired of sinking money into a game that is falling apart. Thinks it's about time to take my money some place else.

replying to this mostly cause I want it to be put up there again because it is simply so intelligently put and also a real suggestion for trying to solve some of the major issues tynon are having!!
and considering that every few days you're logged out because "failed to sync to server" - it really seems like a bulls eye hit to me
well done peeceeuser!! I hope (as you said) your message finds it way to the right people so they can try to actually fix the problem.

I sincerely hope that none of the many bugs that we have in the game were planned by Tynon. That still does not justify the apparent lack of testing or installing patches at critical times in the game, like WB, GW, CW, Rag, or The Lady.
