Does +skill attack help mages?

Does anyone know if skill attack rune such as adept rune help mages at all?

Not at all, so don't waste the rune slot. Stack up on defensive and health runes to fill those slots!

You are not missing anything. Sapphires on a Mage are wasted. A bit off subject, but when embedding Obsidians on the swords favor the heros that do not keep their morale after a skill attack. Obsidian improves physical attack and even though the Physical attack stats improve Skill attach a little they better Obsidians will be more effective on the heroes that do use physical attacks.
