Bumping this thread because I have the same question. I don't have maria and the replays with lower power seem to rely on her. How strong does my team need to be without maria, Queen Byr, or pompey? Thanks.

u can allways use queen P in combination with herja.. and 50m should do it.. easy. i beat it myself 43m

From what I have seen on replays they all have both pompey and maria. I myself am stuck on Khan

My most powerful team is:
archer - 5.3m
Adam - 14.3m
lance - 6.0m
Queen P - 9.2m
Herja - 1.6m
Shayd - 4.8m

At 41m power atm, and still quite a bit off. Only have one lightbringer set atm (on adam)- should I give it to Queen P? Is there a particular formation that would work best?

For those who want to try without Maria and low power, the key is a strong Queen Penth (as is the key with most bosses pre-Genghis). Maria should be tanky enough to survive a standard attack from Khan, and 3 standard attacks from his minions. The trick (unlike the replays you see, which focus on killing the enemy Maria asap) is to instead kill some of the minions so that Penth can survive their assault. The formation I used to spam-kill Khan is:

Herja x Flavius
Lancelot Blood Main
x x x
RESERVE: Queen Penth

The Bloodstorm and Lancelot combo allows you to smoke down an enemy unit or two just as Penth is coming into play. Flavius is safe top because enemy Maria can't hurt him, and since he attacks first Khan doesn't do his skill, neither does the shield unit in front of him. Flavius will skill every turn and prohibit all units from using their skill, except for Khan here and there (which by this point Penth can tank his skill anyway). The enemy Maria CANNOT sustain heal the damage your two hitters are dishing out.

Once the trash is killed, your units will then kill the enemy Maria, and continue on to kill Khan.

Things you will need: a Lightbringer set, minimum (2 is MUCH better, one for Flavius and one for Lancelot); around 95-100k health on Penth; strong offence on Blood/Lancelot (my Lance was critting for 350k to give an idea); a level 10 Dexterousness/Reliability rune on Penth; and a tonne of stamina.

Here is my post from another thread. Try this out. My replay you see on Khan is not the formation I used to recruit him -- I was only trying it, and lost most of the battles. This one is a 39M formation that I used to spam-beat Khan to unlock him.

Neriya, does boosting Queen Penn's armor and burliness/flintiness runes decrease her damage? I tried your form for Pompey but my Queen P died whenever she gets hit by the minion on top and Pompey in the same round.

Out of your two replays, which one were you able to consistently beat Pompey with?

No, they don't decrease her damage. But she has my best weapon/spirit (best everything really). Both replays are the same except for the fact that I levelled the Reliability on Penth one more level, which added a lot of power (but reduced Pompey's critical hit chance to lessen the chance at a lose).

Both Burliness and Flintiness on Penth were level 8, Helmet/Chestguard level 27, Relic level 35, and Reliability level 8 (Dexterousness works as well). I was able to win 95% of the time with that (the 5% of losses came from being critically hit by Pompey).

Buuut if you're not killing the top guard before your main and reserve die, you need more damage up top or more defence middle. Ahmose is a much better choice than Queen Bryn, as he would likely be able to hold for another round.... The damage in middle doesn't matter, their only purpose is to hold the line long enough for Penth/Blood to kill the first soldier.

I made a grammatical error. I meant does defense runes reduce the damage she takes from mobs/bosses? Since their effect seems to be minimal in heroic realm.

I am able to kill one of the soldiers very quickly using Lance, but even one soldier surviving is enough to KO my Penn if she doesn't dodge or block. I used Lvl 24 LB armors, but I did not use burliness or flintiness.

I'm trying to recruit khan, so I would like a form that could comfortably win most of the time. I understand this would mean I need to get a lot stronger first. Seems like my adam I love so much isn't that useful and I don't even have bloodstorm. Guess the main trick is to make Queen P really strong to last against all the hits?

I got khan with about 10 wins I did not use maria but forget the exact form
Pretty sure I used Nekt blood shayd QUeen P and Adam
Put blood and shayd at the top to take out marias
Put nekt in front of khan to prevent him form regaining too much life on his skill attack
Also use herja and Lb sets to slow down skill attacks form khan and minions
