Personally i'm outraged at this. this effectively forces all players to either pay up or kiss their ability to compete in this game long term goodbye. Yes I know it will take some time to learn her true capabilities and effectiveness, but no matter what she is a game changer and will make beating someone with her when you, yourself, don't have her near impossible when on equal strength footing. 5$ doesn't seem like a lot to some people, but to other's it is really a game changing amount of money. For me spending 5$ on a game is out of the question, and the same goes for many others. I'm extremely disappointed in Tynon's choices here. I'm fine with her being available within the newbie's pack for only 7 days (it really just helps you gain a head start), but she needs to be recruitable later in the game without it. If they don't fix this the integrity of this game as a free to play will have been destroyed and I will seriously question continuing to support and promote it like I have.

She is in Tavern 1500 spirits - so you dont have to spend any real money

She is only in the tavern if you have already recruited her via the newbie package, just like any other hero.

First: Name calling is unnecessary. You have no idea what my financial situation is. As I said in my post 5$ can mean a lot to some people (like me). There was a time where I would easily drop 1-2k on a game like this in a month. Not like that any more.

Second: Yes the game is still playable and you may still be able to compete, but Maria is a game changing hero, even if she is like smoulder and doesn't hit worth a crap, if she can get even one or 2 more hits out of a pompey, adam, theseus, etc. That is insanely important for all aspects of the game. I mentioned we will have to wait to see her overall effectiveness, but no matter what she is a game changer and should be available for all. (even if us non-spenders) have to wait a long time to earn her. I'm ok with that, as long as everyone has fair access regardless of their particular socio-economic status.

I'd hope for something more attainable compared to her ease of access to everyone at the beginning, but anything would be an improvement over this.
