Frankly form does not matter as long as the content reaches us timely and often.

If you are talking about the in-game mail, a newsletter is not practical. If you are talking about sending it to the email used to log on, I ma willing to bet that most of them do not exist since Tynon does not validate them other that they must have the format of something@somthing. In any case if they were to send it out it would be blocked by the antispam that a lot of the ISP use.
Please slow down and read all my posts andy.
The home page itself can have a special section for this. The news section of the home page can have this info
You can sign up for a newsletter with any email you want. you can set you spam blockers to not block it.
Not enough people view the forums for them to be an effective way for the devs to communicate with the players.
I am not talking about individual account spam blockers. Some ISPs and other mail services like Google will block any address that sends a large number of the emails to multiple people in a short amount of time It happened to me once when I was sending pictures I took at an event to the people that were in the pictures. Google block my address and would not deliver any emails from me to any Gmail account. I supposed that there is a way to register an address as a legitimate sender of bulk mail though.
Of course, you are talking about making changes to the home page and providing a new service. They would also have to so mail verification to make sure that some one does not sign up some one else for the email. And I seriously doubt that many players would go there to sign up anyway.
The Forum already exists so no development work is needed and it is easy to get to now that there is a button on top of the chat.
