False. Server populations are abysmal...I would love some fresh blood. Hell even an extra 20 per realm so we could upgrade a few bosses...

I actually agree with Deuc and Herby on this one, so sorry America, that's why you guys are freezing so much... Noobs shouldn't be allowed on old servers, with all the new ways to get tokens, it's just unfair that they came in months late and can just go and buy their way to the top, but the old players, whom have also spend a lot of money, gets handicapped cause this future wasn't available? Then at least calculate the amount of money spend, give the extra gems you do get with now AND a fair amount of tokens to at least make it even.

You have no idea what you talking about. This is a new deal you cannot go back and say oh because it is a better deal I want to get the same what I bought a few months ago? So for example mcdonalds have a promotion of half price big mac's for a day so you go to them and say hey I bought 20 big mac's from you guys in the last 4 months so can you guys return the extra money I paid for them ?

It makes perfect sense. Tynon added new promotions and incentives to spend money. You spent money without them, it's not Tynon's responsibility to then give you the same promotion for what you spent 4 months ago.

    These are great ideas but..

The reason that you can move up so fast is because you are experienced and know what to do. When I first started playing the server was a week old and I almost quit because I could not see a way that I would be able to catch up. I made many mistakes even, though I researched things in the forum and the wiki, that I would not make now if I was starting on a new server. The first Guild I joined was pretty much a social club, so I left and was accepted on another one where the people were social but also helped each other. That was the only reason I stayed with the game. I am now ranked 4th in the server but that is partly because several players, that at the time where in the top 20, quit because they became bored with the game. Of course, that is only part of the reason, but it help.

Player that joins our server now has no chance to catch up to the top players for a long time. In the mean time they get pounded in the Caribbean and, even in the wild, now that they can be attacked by some one that is 10 higher that them instead of 3. The great majority of those players will quit within a week or two out of frustration. In my opinion the biggest factor in overcoming the frustration is not having good information on how the game works and how to best spend your resources. I know that there are Guides in the Forum but Noobs do not know that, even though having the Forum tab above the Chat window helps. Perhaps part of the initial quests should be something that takes them into the nooby area of the forum so that they are aware of what is there.

We are in server 7 and, like in mots of the old servers, there is a dominant Guild on every Realm. The rest of the Guilds are pretty much dead with a very few exceptions. In out Realm the Ream chat is used only by one player that every one hates because he continues to attack people in Banish. He mostly talks to himself.

We are the 2nd ranked Guild in the server and we do have, at times, some rivalry (mostly in the Caribbean) with the top ranked Guild (although things are fairly peaceful right now). I would love to bring in noobs into the Guild but we are afraid of having an alt of another Guild com in as a 'spy'. We do have a 'sister' guild that they can come in on, trying to provide advice on that guild chat would require having an alt there and monitoring two Guild chats and that is not practical.

One thing that Tynon could do is to allow for allied Guilds, where both Guilds would agree to become allies. There would be a new chat tab where all the members of the the Guilds in the alliance could chat with each other but still have the Guild chat for the individual Guilds. This would allow the noobs to join one of the guilds and easily receive advice but still be able to chat with the experience players on the other Guilds that are members of the alliance.

Another possibility is to have a 6th realm for noobs where they would stay until they reach a specific power level and then they would be moved to one of the other realms at random like it is done when you first create a character now. There would be no Guilds and they would be able to sail with any one. We could have volunteers mentors that somehow monitor the chat there that would provide advice, but the mechanics of this has to be something that would not require having to have two logons to the server. I have to think about how that could be implemented. My first take is that the mentors could 'log in' to the noob realm when they are available to answer questions and it would be a new tab in their chat window. The noobs would also have a 'mentors' tab that would replace the Guild tab. They can use the Realm chat for socialising and the mentor tab for questions. There would have top be some sort on indication that there are mentors available. Maybe a count of how many mentors are logged into the noob realm.

The benefits of this is that they would initially be competing with other noobs, but unless there is a 'critical mass' of noobs it would not work.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When I joined this was my very first on line game. There were no real rules set anywhere. Things like Labyrinth, I didn't try because it looked odd, and I didn't know the rules. When I first joined, there were two people in my guild. The owner who never was there and the second person, who refused to even talk to me. I had questions, and had to come to the forum, or wiki and try to find them out. Most of the time, there was nothing specifically on what to do, or how to do it. You were totally on your own. When I finally realized I could join a better guild, I went for the one that was at, the time, top of the heap. I joined and they accepted me. What a refreshing thing it was to have people actually mentor you and help explain things, that you could not find on your own. Tynon badly needs a beginners instruction manual that explains how things work. If you are new, and you are thrown into something..and have no idea what to do you are lost. That was what happened with me with Guildwarfare, it took me three times to figure out what I was doing, and what I was supposed to do. No one explained Pirates of the Caribbean to me. I had to go there and watch people use it..and ask questions later to my guild mates.

The idea of a noob area is great. A chance to learn the game without getting your butt beaten up each time and having people steal your hard earned reputations or credits. The idea of guilds being able to work as allies would be great. I have several friends now in other guilds, and we chat constantly, but most of my focus is on our own guild chat, because its there that I learn things, when I can not find them. Take it from someone, who has NEVER EVER played an on line game before, its sorely needed.

I love this game for now, and enjoy finding out how to do new things. Its deep and makes you think and plan on what to do next. Its not all raw power, mowing down the people in front of you. I saw a player with much less power beat a higher power player, simply by using formations in a way that worked to their advantage. It was there I started to learn about formations, and did some research on it.

I can say that when I started on BETA it was much the same. No one knew anything. There were no rules, no explanations of how things worked. There was no wiki and back then we didn't even have much on forum. Well in the 9 mos since, much more info is available. Point being that back then we all struggled to learn, and share knowledge. Most was done by trial and error. Strong bonds were made because of it. So today when you start out the beginning is different than it was. I think the learning curve is just that and will vary by where you start and who you get to know, which guild you get in. Many, many knowledgeable people are playing everywhere now.

I do agree that new players should be directed to the later servers, where it is easier to catch up. I just think that Tynon needs to stay on top of player population, and start merging dead servers.

The problem with that is that there are no really experienced players that can mentor the noobs.
The opinions expressed on this post are my own as a player, not as a Moderator.

Who Cares? You are putting way to much thought into this.
Let Tynon worry about these things and get back to playing the game.
