Im on server 106 and im wondering, is there a way to recruit maria without buying the newbie package? (Cuz its gone by now)
Im seeing a lot of people using maria, and she's clearly OVERPOWERED.
Heroic realm and bosses becomes a joke...
So im looking for a way to "balance" myself to thise players.
No there is no other way and this topic has already been discussed at length. Maria is not overpowered as she misses a lot. Yes this statement like above is used by players as an excuse when they hit a road block. Sorry to sound so harsh. I myself have bought maria but never used her much. Yes must have used her a few times and then back to the hero inn for her. So according to me she is no big deal. Having said that her usefulness may come down the track and by then you might be able to get a weaker version of her in purple.
Nooberix have you seen all the top 3 replays at HR? Naerly all of them used Maria and you tell me its not game changing?
Those are the beginning HR bosses that don't really matter.
Later on, when HR bosses are actually hard and difficult, Maria is barely used in the replays at all.
thats coz the NEW players with maria haven't gotten to there yet.. so the old player with high power who allrdy beat them won't have to again and the ones that still need to won't have the lowest power to reach the top3Originally Posted by Yelsha

You are right, the replays part is a stupid example on my part.
When I first got Maria, I was very happy and excited. I was looking forward to using her since I saw her in beta, I had big plans for her.
I was hoping to get through the Royal Arena and Heroic bosses I couldn't before, expecting to make progress on one boss in each.
And guess what? She was completely useless. By the time I got her, I never used her in a single Heroic nor Royal Arena boss. Only things she is good for are the early labs and for streamrolling lower powered people in Rag.
But I see your point, I might have progressed faster early on in the game if I had access to her sooner. I'd never know though, since I pre-patch all the Heroic bosses I had fought up to that point were pretty easy.
To be honest there seems to be a slight issue with her consistent healing in lower powered people.
Two people with around 1 million when fighting eachother, the attacker will always lose because the rounds are taking to long and all they have is a weak cianna to aim at maria.
She is a game changer for the newbies in comparison to when we were newbies.
I would advise to getting vipsanius agrippa to help with the maria issue. He can get to the back row together with cianna.
There is a tipping point where she becomes less consistent in healing the party and will heal 3 heroes average instead of all 5.
This would make it better.

I don't think he is in the top 10 and just because the top 10 use it does not make her game changing. I have finished all the Hr mission and all the other mission and not once have use maria. Have also just recently beaten Khan without maria so please don't tell me she is game changing ( not showing off here just trying to prove my point).
Well it depends on your perspective of course. When you are well evolved I agree with you, she doesn't add anything much (though Herby might disagree).
However, try and create a new character on a new server and you will see why for some at that stage she is a gamechanger.

Maria is overpowered in Heroics, Royal Challenges, and PvP at the begining of the game. Players who own her have access to new heroes much earlier, new equipments much earlier, and can stay in the top 5 in the arena much more easily, giving them higher titles more quickly, better heroes faster such as Shayd for Banish events, but also Rhize and Dawn in PvP.
Not buying Maria when starting on a new server is almost stupid. It sets you back so much that it will be almost impossible to catch up afterwards.
Server 106 isn't a new server though.
