I could support that idea.
Give bosses defense values, and maybe even dodge and block based on how many hp the boss has.
Small players depend on Shayd for boss damage and stuns. Big players can get Aphrodite, and Cianna w/ LB set and Herja. Smaller players ONLY have Shayd. Also, smaller players tend to use Thucy, since they can only afford to saint Thucy up. Big players have monster Ciannas.It's not about how much damage the big players get, it's about how much damage the smaller players are able to do.
Just put it this way: think of how much small players will do if there were no stuns, and think of how much big players will do. The gap would only widen.

Someone in the middle of the pack pulls 6-10mil coins from a baal, the big guys pull 20-40mil from a baal. Both are about 3 spirit levels worth of upgrades.
I fail to see the issue where people aren't doing appropriate damage for their level.
The game was made even easier for the little guys with all the changes along the way, they are too numerous too list. I don't see the issue yet again destroying any character progression we make would do.
If you play other games which have events like banish on this one, they also have the same players get top ranks everyday. Some players spend more time and money on the game and they deserve the rewards and the ranks they get. It very easy for players to learn the best formation for banish and do max damage if you think you are too far from th top players then start on a new server when one comes out.
If they change banish events it will hurt everyone as most will drop a level and eveyone will get less rewards then.
It would be a totally bad idea to nerf heroes or stuns, as that would hurt all players, regardless of size. Small players would feel it more, since they are already getting barely enough coins/credits for their BS and talents, while for bigger players it would just mean less coins/credits for rune temple and tavern.
It might be worth adding more defense to bosses though. This way, the players that spent time and resources to up their damage and attack stats will be rewarded more.
40M power players who just barely managed to get 3 LB sets should not do close to the damage of top players. Defense should be ramped up more with each boss progression. It should be barely noticeable at 50M baal, visibly noticeable on 250M baal, and significantly noticeable on 1.25B baal.
Most people are here to have a good time; few are really serious about the game. Some people are fine with being clueless about Banish events. Whatever the manner you change these events, they'll stilll be outranked by anyone who put some efforts in understanding the game mechanics of Banish events. The reason there is a huge gap is that most people don't care about preparing for and understanding Banish.
I think I have seen the best proposal for balancing in another thread where someone proposed something like the following:
Do 4-6 banish events a day.
Give people an allowance to enter 2 of them.
