Why not it be the other way around if we cannot get killed in 30 rounds we win.
When my opponents use Maria, the battles are drawn out longer as well. If Vampiric Strike was to be taken out (which would stink pretty hard for me), then I think Greater Heal would have just as much ground for being removed too. And I don't think that Tynon would remove a skill that hundreds of people paid for.

The cap is there to make sure players aren't using heal-heavy formations to simply survive indefinitely, rather than kill an enemy.

I ran into this today facing Golden Dragon... While I do see the possibility for some super long battles, I only see a real use for this in PvP battles, in situations where you have 2 players with kahn penth maria and herja in form... It's gonna be really rare that that ever happens. I would like to see the cap raised to something a little higher personally. I think it ridiculous that we are still alive, using heroes that YOU guys coded and released, but using them somehow penalizes us further. Ridiculous.

Something that has been used to balance out healing in another game is 'erosion'. It is basically, each time you get hit, 5% (or w/e) of it is subtracted from your max hp. (so if you get hit 100k out of 130k, it becomes 30k out of 125k... and maria or vamp could only bring it back up to 125k. It prevents you from healing forever.
That same game also introduced skills that could increase erosion on a target, but that ended up killing healers forever...lol
