Thread: banish reward nerf?

  1. #41
    Question for someone:

Since the Banish Events now have max caps in place it seems that only the "rich" (the highest powered top few players) will get effected (taxed). It seems that the total coinage available in a banish event is still fixed and Baal/Cerb should NOT take surplus coin/credit to the grave but rather SHOULD NOW distributed ever more to lower powered players who are not capped out. But this is not what people are seeing - there are reports that all people (capped or not) are taking in 20% less income from Banish Events.

    It is broken or what?

Reason would necessitate that the net effect of the patch should be wealth redistribution - MORE not LESS income should be promulgated to the lower powered uncapped out players from the extra residuals that are available from the high-powered players being capped out.

It sounds to me like we have incompetent Marxists ideologues doing code here. When you slay a beast you take ALL its possessions and don't bury it with any extraneous wealth - the bones are picked over.

Your idea is what I was thinking in my half awake state. But that is not the case. Before everyone got a share of 125m coins and 50m credits now everyone gets a share of 100m coins and 40m credits.
SO what they did is not wealth redistribution. What they did is make the pie smaller for everyone. SO everyone is effected equally by percentages.

For example Dawnseeker is based in the US and Thalin who is (or was) the Vice Development Director in Evony is based in Oz. So if Dawn needs to contact someone with the answers to our (the players) questions, they may very well live in another time zone and has to wait for that person to become available.

Currently, Dawn has been doing major Q&A with Evony players due to some major changes brought in over there, which may also explain why he's being stretched. This by all means doesn't mean some improvements can't be made and some of the comments you guys made aren't legitimate but it does help put some things in perspective.

@ExecDude, your're right in saying 'Lord of Ultima' is closing down but since I've had the pleasure of briefly playing that game I received an email about that situation. LoU is shutting down on the 17th May (if I remember rightly) and isn't allowing any new accounts or purchases to be made. It's also owned by EA which considering is a games industry giant I very much doubt it's going out of business. EA tried to break into the MMORTS market and now have decided it wasn't for them and investing in other projects. However, it doesn't mean another company won't buy the IP and continue LoU's development.

Before you ask why have I allowed and named another game, it's because since it's being closed down, it's no longer a competitor.

Now back on topic, regarding my rewards in Cerb, I did roughly 20% damage and received 16m coins...I forgot to look up the credits (duh). 20% reduction in 1.25b Banish sounds about right.

In reality it's a drop but it's not a major loss, at least for me. Worse things happen at sea.
It's a Major loss for me, most of the top players of my server and top players of all servers. I will lose over 150m Coins per week, and roughly 50-65m credits. How can this be characterized as not a large loss to anyone? Many people have spent ridiculous amounts of time and money to get better at Banish for the express reason of increasing their income, myself included, and it's simply taken away. Just like that... Poof, gone.
There is a distinct feeling lately around here that I'm not feeling so great about. With all these changes affecting largely in many cases the original players from beta on early servers the most that "If you don't like it, then leave". Well, this is how it seems anyway.

Why is it such a big deal to you?
These massive amounts of coins and credits are free.
It is a big deal because of the level that I am at and the cost to upgrade Blacksmith items. I have spent money and a ridiculous amount of time to get where I am and I frankly do not see the logic in taking items away from players whether it was free or paid. The rewards I earn from cerb/baal barely sustains my equipment and rune upgrades as it was. This is just another example of Tynon fixing items that was good as is, instead of focusing on fixing the real issues and developing the game further. I am also curious about why you keep defending Tynon and criticizing players who voice their opinions instead of offering some constructive feedback.

so when we will get a bigger cerb/baal what will happen we still get 100m coin 20m credit? share for all it will be wast of time i think to fight bigger cerb baal more than 1.25b hp

well..... on a positive note, thanks for the "free" Lab finally..although its still not completely free as it cost 60 sta But hey, thats better then using gems and sta.

The Noble Lady dropping gems is a great idea and should be done once a week although maybe lower the amount of gems she would drop on the normal week day event. I know some will say it will ruin the game etc etc, but its about keeping players "playing" and from what I have seen there are more players "leaving" then playing atm, so some extra gems would help retain players, and ya Tynon might lose a few gems for money sales but having more players still playing will keep some of the players who do buy gems stay around as it gets boring playing by yourself.

Cerb and Baal...well so now everyone loses coin/ credit , I can see putting a cap on the amount of coin/credit you can get from a "1.25" WB but now all they have done is make all players make less , those players who were already hurting because they couldn't keep up to the top few players are now going to get less then they were lol...not good.

    Like I said before,

Did everyone really think uCool would allow players to get over 200m coins and credits each day for free?

Was everyone that naive to expect a 6.25b hp banish boss without receiving any sort of balancing nerf?

Come on. uCool would be like shooting themselves in the foot if the way things were continued w/o being kept in check.

How many players from servers 1-50 buy coin and credit chests anymore, since they can just get the same or more from banish?

Let's be real folks. It's not uCool's fault. It's just being real.

I agree to a point, but players spent gems/money opening blacksmith and talent slots to keep up with the amount of coins/credits they were getting, now poof, I think this is a hiccup and will be restored timely.

    I don't believe that.

Players opened up BS and Talent slots long ago, when they were just beginning their accounts.

This is in order to upgrade their equipment and talents a lot faster.

Yours and Execdude's argument only holds valid if you opened up your slots now or just recently.

But I'm willing to bet my Tynon account that you opened those slots long ago.

The rewards in banish were not meant to "sustain" your upgrades.

Those were meant to be bonus coins, creds and rep to help players move further in the game.

It's only recently that the amounts won during Banish became so big that it was enough to "sustain" a high-level player's upgrades.

If you find that lacking, go buy some packages. Coin and Credit packages on Wednesdays. When was the last time you did that, if I may ask?

I like it how Tynon is dictating things now. I like the straight-up, in-your-face approach.

Play it like they want, or get the hell out.
