    valentines day gems

So i'm an australian and i play on server 11 (east coast) so when i was runnign around on the 14th of Feb (my time) i was pleasantly surprised to see i was collectign gems. i got a pretty good haul too - just shy of 700 for the hour.

i had a little spend in fair and used some to place bets for champ wars before i logged off.

I jumped back into game a few hours ago and noticed i have no gems at all. not even gems i had purchased that same day.

Any ideas on how to get these missign gems back?

look forward to hearign some relies.

    cheers.

good luck I was on US western server and when I and others who was eastern time zone got gems on the 13th then gems disappeared. on 14th which was the 15th for us we had to reset our clocks to 14th we got to keep this time but tying something to computer clocks was totally bad idea from the start.

Ummm, why would using the server times be bad for this?
Everything else is done on server time. Shouldn't this as well?
Come on now. How hard is it to figure out that the SERVER time was the time it would go?
GW is server time. Rag is server time. WB's are server time. NL is server time. But the special event based on NL should have a new time and mess up everyone?
To paraphrase... "I don't think so, Tim."

The code was a bit wacky on the 13th. Refresh fixed it.

Why would anyone expect rewards scheduled for the 14th to be available on the 13th then whine when their expectations aren't met?
The Tynon mail clearly said it would run during the NL on the 14th. That clearly makes it for the server.

You get no sympathy from me for expecting a reward you weren't entitled to and then not getting it.

swifty, read the first post properly i said i was also missing gems which i bought and paid for....... these in particular are what i would like to see be returned. granted if they also wanna throw the 700 odd i 'got' from chattign to teh lady, then i'd be most appreciated of them too.

the point is i bought gems, spent some (not all) and now i have none..... i assume that these along with teh ones i collected 'prematurely' from the royal lady were all wiped....if this is the case - i woudl liek them back.

and 1 last thing. u say code was wacky and if i had of refreshed it wouldve fixed it.....well mr smarty pants i did refresh, just before lady so taht my pc time woudl be spot on and i wouldnt have teh first spawn of teh lady being a glitch.... anyways....thanx for your oh so constructive comment, much appreciated.

Based on what our aussie friends have experienced, I would say this is what happens:

    1) When you talk to NL, a request is sent from the client browser/Flash to the server

    2) The order in which the server receives these request determine whether you are 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.

    3) Server sends this information back to client (simply whether he is 1st, etc., as opposed to sending "you are first and you get 1,000,000 credits")

    4) The code in the client determines what to display (server says you are 1st, so display 1,000k. In this case, client looks at local machine date and determines whether to display gems or credits, hence the display error.)

If the above is true, then our aussie friends should be able to do NL on the 15th (their time) without changing their computer clock. Their game will display the wrong information and give them credits, BUT when they refresh they should get the correct server values which should have been credited with gems.

It doesn't matter where you are from, or what time shows in your computer clock.

The free gems from the Feb. 14 NL was connected to the server's time.

If you want to get your gems on time, change your computer clock to be the same as the server's clock.

If you don't, there's a chance you will be given credits instead of gems, or vice versa, or simply have a display error.

Well, if you read their messages, they seem to be saying they see gems being credited on the 14th NL, but then was "taken" away. goldenruhl ended up getting gems when he did NL on the 15th. And it doesn't matter whether he changed his clock on his computer or not, other than to change what is displayed. The server SHOULD ALWAYS have the "authoritative data." The server doesn't ask the client, "hey, how many gems do you have?" This would open up the game for easy hacking.
