    Lightbulb Removing Smoulder's Nerf

    As most of us know, Smoulder is considered one of the weakest gold heroes.

    This is because aside from a mage's built-in miss rate, Smoulder has a 50% magic attack damage reduction.

    This means that if your magic damage is 60k, Smoulder will only do 30k, not including magic defense stats of the enemy.

    I believe this nerf is not needed anymore, considering the amount of damage the Adamantis, Aphrodites, Bloodstorms, Lances, etc do.

    Removing the 50% magic attack nerf will make Smoulder a competitive gold hero again, seeing use by some players.

    Same here. Then I finally tested and found out about the 50% magic damage nerf he has.

    I don't think its a nerf. Different skills use different coefficients of the heroes magic or skill attack. In addition to Horns of Hell, Swift Prye and Warcry are examples of other skills/attacks that have a damage coefficient of less than 1. Thousand strikes has a damage coefficient of approximately 1 (hard to tell for sure for skill attacks, because there is a damage multiplier based on physical attack as well), while skills like Driving Blow, Rallying Strike, and Piercing Thrust have damage coefficients of greater than 1.

    When did they nerf him. For him to have been nerfed, Horns of Hell would have had to have done more damage in the first place.

    The light damage would be palatable if the hit rate was improved imo

    Just make the coefficient scale by level. The reason for the nerf is because Smoulder is too powerful in the lower levels when adamanti cannot do constant skill damage.

    Perhaps the damage reduction should be tied to the 'set of 6' similar to the reduce lost of Morale.

    Yes, I think this is a good idea . Maybe all mage skills should tie to the sets too, then maybe one can get more stuns with shayd as the set level goes up

    Why change him now? He sucks , always did , no point in messing with it now, lost all faint in Mages in Tynon world back in July, just move on and let Smoulder the suck die the death that he deserves.
