I believe the number of medals returned is a percentage of the stars you have lost upgrading prior.
I got over 150 blue and 110 purple medals returned.

I almost think it's a sarcastic nod to those who quit the game recently... for whatever negative reason.

For the ex-Evony players here, do you remember when they made all that fuss about the great news that was to be released on the forums? Everyone thought it was AgeIII, and it all turned out to be an april fools joke to pass time, but it drove people crazy for several weeks, even months, if I remember correctly. This looks similar lol

yea i think the devs are trying to be funny by making the memorial for all the people who quit the game cause of medals, in evony they did it just before april fools they said they are making it space theme once and zombies the other time, this is diffreent though

when i saw this memorial info in the mail. I thought maybe one of the dev teamed died or something in real life happened. If that is not the case.

The medal refunds were given based on you guys feedback on the patch that it was unfair to people who already had a lot of stars. Basically its a fractional refund of the number of medals you've gained, not the amount stars lost/gained.

This patch restructured the star system to make it easier for players of all levels to gain power. The memorial was a small add-in. You can take this for what its worth, but if you complain about every single thing that happens, your feedback loses meaning.

I remember there was an HR replay that belonged to a Gimli. Saw it when they switched to the new HR replay rankings. Not sure if it is still there or has been replaced.
