Thanks Tynon - GREAT PATCH. Am very pleased. It also seems that lately the success rate is higher than advertised - cool. Now we can incrimentally just "try" stars as we get the medals without having to burden inventory for long periods of times to "do stars" and not worry about coming out net-negative for all our time, effort and cost. This was "the right thing to do".

The original negative star penalty was antithetical to Western Culture in general and just felt "sleazy" or "foreign" in concept. Losing the medal is sufficient to get a real risk-reward feel without having to additionally punish by putting the prior stars at risk on most every roll.

after discovering that a real person who played tynon with the toon name gimli was killed last week, i rescind all negative feedback for this patch.

It is a perfect and awesome patch, probably the best one ever.
It was preannounced so we stopped spending medals.It did what was announced
It was announced some other changes might be added.
We got lab costs changed to make it so your first lab is truly free with the buff
And the devs did something nice for a customer.

This is exactly what i hope to see in the future

Whatever complaints he wanted to state about the star system can be done so without involving race or culture, but he deliberately chose to do so and wrote it in a way to imply that non-western cultures would do something sleazy like this and foreign equals bad.

You are reading it wrong, because there was no implications like that.

He said the concept could be viewed as sleazy OR foreign as in "strange and unfamiliar."
You assumed he meant foreign in an ethnic or cultural way
