Won't matter Matt, people play to win regardless. They will still pick the 'winning' side.

However got to give you kudos on a well thought out idea.

kinda disagree there Morgan - if say mattp's plan had been in place - those guilds who lost 80% of their members cause 1 guild on our server became dominant would stay cause they had invested in their guild and were lvl4-5-6 guilds - they quit cause of the buffs imo

    I agree with matt too.

If you shoot in all directions, you'll miss a lot, but sometimes you'll hit something.
That's what Matt has been doing lol
He's been suggesting a lot of ideas. Many were bad.
    But this one is good!

Seen it with similar guild models in other games. Whoever was the big bad tended to have all the players-nature of the beast really. Buffs are the symptom rather than the cause.

There is no way to answer the poll because Guild Wars works different in servers 1-10 from the other server, and the issues are similar but different.
The opinions expressed on this post are my own as a player, not as a Moderator.

ahh but you see there is no real wining side

in my idea lets say teh participation rewards are 4m coins 2m cred
teh winning guild gets an additional 1m coin 500k creds.

thats not a lot to squawk over.

But now you have all those smaller guilds who refuse to merge in to the big guild who suddenly have the buffs, and can build. Starting to make them little guilds tougher and tougher to beat in gwf. Then when you got 4 of them all coming after you and you have to split your forces.

Thats the beauty of this very simple idea. every one becomes a winner. until such time they come up with something actually interesting to do for guild pvp. Everyone get to build more. If your tired of the people in your guild and want a change you can now do so without punishment of losing those city buffs. How many people you think are sitting in guilds only because of the buffs, but who like talking to the people in other guilds much better. Theres lots of different mind sets out there. But i think less are going to flock to an uber guild over a few creds/coins every day - where as going to them for these massive buffs is a no brainer and people will do that all day long.

I personally think everything should be changed to fix the problem of healthy competition in pvp and to make this game more sustainable, Ive outlined many ideas in the forums.some of them seem outlandish. But the underlying problem with teh game structure is the realms guilds and gwf. uCool recognized this early on and changed gwf on 11+. But that made the situation worse instead of better. its high time we throw out this outdated notion of guilds and realms and this boring idea of gwf pvp. revamp the whole thing - make things more competitive on all servers. Cater to the people who have been playing this game forever. Dont take things away give us new things. Give everyone the city buffs. Give everyone something new to do.

Some people are unhappy with ubber guilds dominating a server

And many people, notably Herby, suggested that guilds should be able to hold a limited amount of cities.

Guild Warfare seems to be a total failure and a major cause for people quitting a server in all servers except 1-10.

So here's poll. The question is simple: Is GW a source of dissatisfaction for you?

I don't want people to state why in the poll. I just want to survey the level of dissatisfaction with GW. However, feel free to post your reasons by commenting on this thread.
The biggest problem with guild wars is anyone can make multiple dupes, then have their dupes join the guild warfare. They do not have to be online for this battle. They can just sit station in the defense window. I disagree with this method. Yes even my most powerful player is afk during guild wares. But if he isn't there to "defend" then way does the game put him in since he didn't "Fight" sort to speak. Join should still be the same but if the player doesn't click the fight button it shouldn't place the said player in the city. They do not gain rewards anyway. So I don't understand the point of this. This would create for more fair fights. It would also make guild wars a bit more enjoyable with more active players being required to be atk during the war. Nothing really needs to be changed but this.

Actually creating alts to defend is not time savvy (no time to build them up to be a factor - they die easy) So this method of 'defending is pointless imo - #1 guilds don't even have afks in play (they sit in G) guild takes A in one move. right?

Basically she is saying that the uber guild need not bother wasting time defending, as they will all be sitting in G no matter what, and her entire guild cannot break it. There is something wrong with that lol
