This is a pheonomenon that mostly just happens to the newer servers, but here is what happens:
Guild War
1 Player 8 million power (with Maria)
vs
35 Players, 5+ of which are 5 million power.
8 million power player deploys B, invades A. Opposing guild defends A.
Result:
8 million power player defeats all 35 players, remaining health 98%.
How does this happen? We see it in Ragnarok all the time.
8 million (with Maria) vs 5 million:
-- Ahmose (tank) ends up damaged, nearly dead at 25% health.
-- Next round he faces a low-power player, heals back to 99% health.
-- Repeat infinitum.
Now there is a very simple programming fix to this. It's the same programming that Dawn of Darkness had with it's Battle Royale (similar to Ragnarok). It is:
-- After a battle takes place, the resulting health points of each character becomes the new maximum hit points.
This means that if you win a battle and your Ahmose is damaged down to 20,000 HP, then his new HP is 20,000.
It means that you cannot fight someone to heal, but instead go to a Base or Fort to heal. (Which is the purpose of the Base / Fort).
This means that one person should probably think twice before taking on 35+ people half his size.
This means that entire guilds cannot be "solo'ed" easily.
