I did a small test on the mounts speed. Started marching from the guard near the Sky pool to Guard near the Church.

With White horse mount - Took me 47-48 Seconds
With Tiger Mount - Took me 35-36 Seconds.

This its working fine with the Tiger mount as such.

If you have the ability, do a side by side race, with people view turned "on".

Timing a race by stop watch shows results, but those results are never going to be 100% reliable because of things like server lag, network loads, refresh rates, etc.

imo the real test is a side by side race between mounts with the same star levels from one point to another. In this case, the results still will not be 100%, but I believe they are more realistic and reliable.

i know im running a fever today and feel like crap.
but...
wouldnt trying to compare 2 mounts from 2 accts- hopefully from different ips, be less reliable then just timing the same acct doing the same trip with and without the mount? I could imagine one person saying they won and on their screen they did, but on the other person's screen they won just from lag. At least on 1 acct you can sort of tell if your lagging more on one trial then the other
and can repeat the process fairly quickly to get avgs

The speed boost may gain you 1 round or it may not, depending entirely on how long your rounds are and when the boss happens to die. It won't gain you 2 rounds, because the distance is too short.

Are the amounts of mounts server wide, or does each realm get it's own amount? One realm has 0 bears left, yet people are still buying them and there are some left in another realm.

An upgrade or 2 of this event could be a winner.An expansion of arie city and throw in an event of (top of head) find the treasure chest,similar to the lady

Those are daily limits set on purchasing, I believe. At reset tonight it should show 5 or whatever are there to buy.

Not only that, they aren't precise. The White Bear on server 1 was at 1 left for several hours while 20 or more people "adopted" them.

I've been seeing the Adopted thing a lot too. Been 0 Bears since the patch went live this morning. And wasn't able to buy him.

I hope it's daily, would be nice.

No, not really. I don't experience much lag from network issues, so it worked very well.

Noob question... but what exactly is adopting? Can't seem to find it.

I don't think there are daily limits. I think it's a per realm thing. If there aren't white bears anymore in your realm, I suggest on jump realm to go get one and come back.
