Why, when merging two European servers 72 and 76, does Tynon insist on giving the time for it to happen in EDT? Is it too hard to give server time in the announcement, since only there are only two servers involved? Or is Tynon completed fixated on US time zones?

nameservers are based in the US, It takes usally 2-72 hours to fully propogate across all the root nameservers. But back on topic this is why its done US time zones.

Maybe, we can all be on 1 server per time zone?

Invest a little on a higher powered server "farm" to be able to handle the load?

Merge all servers (1 - 1xx) for each realm. Now that would be kick ass and fun!!!

If you look at my crazy posts i suggested this.
    Make every thing guild related
    therefore no need for realms
merge all relams on each sever in to one
merge all time zones to one sever
then create a mega server with 5 realms
1 realm for each time zone
and you can pay to realm jump
each realm has its own schedule of events to keep thinsg sync'd with current time zones

We use a single time zone for our announcements so that everyone is on the same page. Europe spans 4 time zones, Asia spans 8 time zones, North America 5 time zones, etc. We keep everything in one time listing so that the relative position of server openings is clear.

DAWN: OT: but, CWF for West coast server did not adjust for day light savings time... like other events like banish and GW. Can we get the CWF time updated so it does not start the same time GW starts? This is an issue for a lot of people. It used to start during ragnok which was fine, since you do not have to watch ragnok. Or better yet, have CWF start 1 hour before ragnok at 8pm?

Then certainly it will not collide with GWF time.

    Thanks

+1 I agree. CW needs to account for Daylight Savings just like all the other events have done. Otherwise it throws off our clock/schedule.

Since the servers being merged are always in the same timezone would it not make more sense to do it in server time? That is what the players are used to.
The opinions expressed on this post are my own as a player, not as a Moderator.

in the meantime while all these merges are happening server 05 which was one of the 1st servers open dont get to merge and ppl continue to quit because server is so boring with 30 people on it and the over 100 Dark realms alt accounts, wonder why people are refusing to spend money there. all realms on this server have had to make a 2nd guild so they can fight themselves in guild warefare. While oher servers are growing server 05 is slowly dying everyday.

    THANKS ALOT TYNON

This is the best yet out of Matt's ideas, and nearly all of Matt's ideas are very good.
