Is anyone experimenting with a set-up at this point which does not include any of the mages or support players?

An all-physical setup is feasible, but you lose a lot by not having Herja, Maria, or Aphrodite in your lineup.

Agree, but I still don't think Herja is as great of a help as one would expect (I know everyone would disagree with me).
To frame this statement more properly, I am talking about at the highest levels of PVP. The damage from Adamanti will remain to be seen as the opponent gains significant resistance and defensive skills. Thus possibly negating missing one of the top heros on the line up.
Again, this is just my theory and still under testing.
My feeling is Herja/Main/Adamanti benefits from 150 mil - 300 mil power spectrum. Beyond that, other top heros who can do damage/stun/aoe/large single target damage may be more useful... Even Maria at the end would be very powerful even if she get's off a heal or two on key heros who do not take as much damage.
Funny you mention this...I'm working on making an all mage team just for kicks. This project will take months to pull off as I currently run 2 mages in my lineup. But I'm getting what I need. The runes, the staff, etc. I'll at least be totally Flavius-proof! LOL!
At the highest levels of play, there are two types of setups:
1. Direct damage setup: Priority is Scipio, Pompey, Bloodstorm
2. AOE setup: Priority are Adam, KT, Alci, Rhize
It also depends on how your enemy is setup. Sometimes DD is needed to take out an enemy's Queen Bryn, or Adam, if exposed. Sometimes the enemy has very strong tanks in front, and only an AOE approach will work.
Do not that a well setup Queen Bryn can really put a player's plans out of whack.
i have use all ph heros old time in cw and it work fine with me befor i quit the game lol

Funny you mentioned this.....
I have been building an all mage formation since I first got aboard here. I currently have an Archer main hero (due to lack of mage heros available) and Mehivdan, Hypatia, Shayd, Smoulder (trying to aquire Gen Djehuty). I also basically dumped all my talent builds into Illuminated Mind. I manage my Archer Main hero's special needs (smile) via rune setup and embedded armor chips. I find that my mages basically execute an equivilant level skill attack every round they survive and do heavy damage while their inherently high mage defense values allow me concentrate more on physical and skill defense rune sets. I find that it has also allowed me to build my Archer Main (Armor/Runes) much more quickly and heavily than usual.
Positive/Negative observations:
+Morale is practically a non-issue
+Rune set up is inherently simpified and uniform
+Equipment set up is uniform
+Talent builds are simplified, - no need to build Strength of Steel & Psychic Amplifier
- Inherent Hit Point values ARE LOW!!
Keep your powder dry!
