The 30-round cap is there to encourage offensive gameplay. It is not to "punish" anyone, but to make sure that high-defense setups do not become too common. Offense is more interesting and better for the game.

That is very interesting. Thanks for saying that.. I always said defense was worthless. But this does not make sense to me. The 30 round cap actually encourages high defensive setups.
Because if you are attacked and have a high defensive setup, and can survive 30 rounds, you win. with out needing any offense. You may need to rethink this concept.
Because the PvE bosses are highly defensive. I say this because I include HP as part of your defense. SO when you fight bosses with MILLIONS of HP that is the exact reason people are hitting the 30 round cap. SO your reasoning may be whatit is but your solution is quite flawed. I think my idea works better and obtains the same thing. Which will also allow players to customize their toons more and not all be forced into using high offensive forms and strategies to do everything
