Disappearing stars

I just added stars to heroes, but then they vanish! Happened twice in a row. I tried refreshing but they are still gone. They didn't reappear inventory either.

Can I get them back please?

Adding stars has a chance to fail. You must've had poor luck and failed you attempts.
