formations basics

ok this is prob going to make me sound lame but what I really need is the basics of how the squares work & how each diff pos/sqr affects the character on it, there may already be a post on this but I was unable to find it & would be very grateful for any help on this

That's the order squares are hit during banish.

For pvp or normal fights, you hit the one directly across the row from you, all the way to the back of the row.
Then you hit the row above from front to back.
If you start from the middle, the order is the same as banish.

so what would be a good formation for Banish i use the X formation is there a better one
