do the math, first of all they dont get full stakes, only half and you get coin/credit/XP/rep compensation for being in the top 6 and thats more than you would get from all your coin/credit/xp stakes combined. you could drop back to 7th or lower, lurk and wait for them to get a big stake and then try to take it away, but you choose the higher arena payment instead. either way is perfectly fine and unless you loose a 100 or a 1000 gem stake, the arena payment is better.
