Try it and find out why. In order of importance in combating Magic AOE, the most important runes are 1. nimbleness, 2. resistance, 3. endurance/vitality, 4. messiness.

Runes have hidden effects.

Resistance reduces AOE Magic damage, not all magic damage.
If you would like to see this for yourself, then go to a magic aoe heroic boss such as minister lascv, and fight him once using no resistance runes and once with high resistance runes on your physical heroes.
Or you can fight someone with a strong Mulan once without resistance and once with to see how it works in AOE.

On a related note, if you power up your Mulan or Smoulder/Purple Smoulder with infallibility, it will cause him/her/it to do more damage in PVP but NOT heroics/quests.

Then the other obvious special effect I can think of is Preciseness reducing Shayd's miss chance.

Well i tested resistance against a skill attack, and it seems it does actually reduce damage taken.
I stuck a L11 resistance on my saff and she took 8k less damage than w/out it, against a driving blow.
Everything else was the same, shield wall was dealt 1st, then the driving blow was the first hit from opposing player.
I had thought about this previously, but lacked the enthusiasm to actually test it, thanks Yelsha.
Think i may be changing my defense runes around abit for pvp, and using flinti and resis on all until my flav has enough stars to make him worthwhile using

is it the resistance rune itself that does this, or is it block rating?

im guessing the rune as ahmose still sucks

I think its block rating, not the rune. But not all skill attacks are effected by block rating. Piercing Thrust, Ascension, and Rallying Strike for example does the same damage regardless of block rating.

third eye is 0 power then the next thing when you get it you dont now what your armor power is so take thick skin for levels what take lower then 500 something like that but i got level 0 for third eye. second why does your diffrent power come true from level 25 then i get my armor done torrow night then i want to get the force 00.9% for the force but the i get the power armor brickbut its cheap to buy so i buy it once or twise a day to put the force in but 555 for the copy down is 30$ or 67$ but thats not a prise for it it shuld be 45$
